Treasurer Steven Johnson has been unanimously elected to serve as the next Secretary Treasurer of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST). NAST is the nation’s bipartisan organization representing state treasurers and other officials responsible for state treasury functions across the country. Its members work together on responsible public finance, investment practices, savings programs and other issues affecting the financial health of their states.

“I’m honored by the confidence of my fellow treasurers and grateful for the opportunity to serve in this leadership role,” Johnson said. “NAST gives leaders from both parties the chance to learn from one another, share what is working in our states and strengthen the way we manage public resources. I look forward to representing Kansas and continuing that work on behalf of the people we serve.
